This Country is So Hopeless, It’s Driving Me Crazy

Day 26/30 → Oh what do you know, our high and mighty president is making rounds on social media and the current events scene once again. And if you’re Filipino, you’ve probably guessed it right: it’s because of his filthy mouth and lack of common decency.

I can’t even say I’m surprised because this is not the first time he has run his mouth like a fucking idiot. I actually, honestly wanted to laugh at the whole thing but I just can’t be like that. No matter how hard I try, I can’t simply be apathetic or laugh things off like everything’s a joke.

Body Shaming Every-freaking-where

Day 25/30 → Most people think that body shaming only affects people who are fat (meant as a fact, not as an insult). Apparently, these people think that only larger-sized human beings fall victim to the heartless people who body shame and that they are the only ones who have feelings.

I’ve gotten used to people’s jokes. I’ve formed some form of imperviousness over remarks like

The Philippines Would Probably Never Progress

Day 21/30 → I don’t want to say never. But it seems like the path that we’re on is leading to exactly that – we’re never going to progress as a country and we’ll probably never be a non-3rd world country.

LOL.

So I have here these three babies that I got completely on impulse. Sure I did want to give them a try, too, but there were just far more lipsticks on my wishlist that I’ve deemed as “higher priority”.

My Love Affair with Seattle Grace

It was a breezy, Saturday evening in Manila. I could still remember that night, albeit hazily. It was the summer here at the time and I just got back home from hanging out with my friends. I turned on the TV and went straight to channel 23 — then aptly named as Studio 23.

We didn’t have cable on the TV in our living room, then (only in my parents’ bedroom to avoid me having too much TV time), so I had no other choice but to stick to some local TV shows and Studio 23 — the only non-cable network at the time that offers foreign / American shows.

#HereTogether at the Metro Manila Pride Festival 2017

Yesterday, June 24th, we celebrated the 23rd annual — the longest in South East Asia and almost as old as I am — Metro Manila Pride March Festival.

It was technically my 2nd time to attend but it was my 1st time to actually join the march. And to say that the experience was nothing short of amazing, liberating, and empowering would be an understatement.
