I don’t know what got me into the whole MLBB game but I can’t seem to get myself out of it. I used to dislike nude lipsticks. Mainly because I already look pale as it is and I hate looking like I’m sick so I’ve always gravitated towards dark shades or darker hues, at least.
But now, every single lipstick that attracts me is in the nude/MLBB shade range. And I’m not mad at it.
There are still days, though, when I would pick up some of my reds or burgundy shades but for the most part, I’m pretty much satisfied with my everyday lip colors.
So when I got the opportunity to order some items from the ColourPop website care of my cousin, of course, I went for the nudes and got myself Sunday and Times Square.
I have had the same ColourPop liquid lipstick wishlist for years and I haven’t updated them or even looked at the ColourPop website to check out what’s new. So these shades are new to me (probably released in the last year) and I can’t believe it took me this long to get my hands on them! (If only I wasn’t so caught up in trying out liquid lipsticks from other brands.)
Times Square is described as a muted pink beige color and Sunday is soft dusty pink. Both of which are part of the infamous Ultra Matte Lip line of ColourPop.
I can’t say enough praises for these two. They have the same formula as the shade Avenue which is the one shade from ColourPop’s UML line that has, in my opinion and as far as my lips are concerned, the best formulation.
The consistency’s not too thick (unlike CP UML in Bianca) and not too runny (unlike CP UML in Scrooge—already disconnected). They both apply really smoothly and easily on the lips. There’s no tugging or tackiness (which I hate so very much) and they don’t get sticky even after a few hours of wear (unlike CP UML in Bumble—see how fucking inconsistent their formulations are?????).
They’re both transfer-proof and waterproof but as with any other liquid lipstick out there, oil is their worst enemy. But overall, they’re both just downright amazing. And I can’t be happier, really!
I was skeptical about purchasing more than two shades because in spite of my love for ColourPop’s UML, their formula is inconsistent as fuck. You never know how a particular shade is going to perform on you because it’s never the same for all of them.
Thank heavens these two lived up to the amazing-ness and greatness of UMLs. They’re both the perfect MLBB shade for everyday use and I’m so happy to have finally found a nude shade from ColourPop that has the combination of an amazing formula, perfect color, and a shade that won’t wash me out.
